Chemically pure and structurally perfect diamond is perfectly transparent with no hue or color. Diamonds occur in a variety of colors: the fewer colors in the stone, so it is more expensive, other things being equal characteristics.
There is a wide range of natural diamonds colors. It can be ranged from completely colorless (the most desirable) to the yellow and dark brown.
The system of certification of diamonds adopted by most countries uses the letters of the Latin alphabet from D to Z to determine the color. The color scale begins from D for colorless and ends with Z, indicating the maximum availability of the colors in the diamond.
The color of a diamond is determined by the examination with the special light and a visual comparison to the standard color chart of GIA (Gemological Institute of America).
